Happy Thanksgiving!
"Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done!" Psalm 105:1

We had a wonderful feast today! We dressed up in Indian and Pilgrim hats, sang our Thanksgiving songs, and ate yummy food! We all had a great time and enjoyed having our guests at school! I pray that you all have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving! We will see you Tuesday at school. I will post more pictures of the feast next week.
Here are the words to our Thanksgiving songs:
(tune of "Are You Sleeping")
Mr. Turkey, Mr. Turkey
Run away, run away
If you are not careful
You will be a mouthful
Thanksgiving day, Thanksgiving day
(tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It")
Hello Mr. Turkey how are you?
Hello Mr. Turkey how are you?
With a wobble, wobble wobble
And a gobble, gobble, gobble
Hello Mr. Turkey how are you?
Reminder: If you have not let me know if your child will be attending the movie on Wednesday, please send me an e-mail as soon as possible at: ranweiler@insightbb.com. Please bring your money on Monday. Thank you!

Library Pictures and Reminders

Here are some pictures from our field trip to the library. We had a great time! We got a tour of the library, looked at lots of books, learned about all the fun things to do at the library, and we even got to meet the library pet, Sugar the guinea pig! We also each checked out a book to share with our friends at school. We learned lots about the library and how to take care of books.
Today at preschool, we talked about turkeys. We made special turkeys for decorations at our feast.

Reminder: our class Thanksgiving Feast is this coming Tuesday, November 20th from 10:00-11:15 am. Each child may bring one guest to share in the feast. We will be eating, making hats, and the children will be sharing some Thanksgiving songs with you. See you there!
Also, I would like to remind everyone about the movie field trip. We will be attending the movie "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" on Wednesday, November 28th at 10:00 am (doors will open at 9:30). Anyone is invited to attend and join in the fun! If you would like to come, please send 50 cents per person to school on the day of the feast. We need to get an accurate count for the theater as soon as possible. Tickets will be sold at the box office the day of the movie. The cost is $5.75 per person.
Children are allowed to attend without an adult. An adult will need to bring them to the theater, purchase their ticket and snack (optional), and get them seated.
If you have any questions, please e-mail me at: ranweiler@insightbb.com Thank you!

Ready at Five
We have come across a new website that I would like to share with you. It was recommended to us by a former preschool parent. It is readyatfive.org (or click on the link on the right hand side of this webpage). Check out this website and go to parent tips. There is information on everything from how to know if your child is ready for school, how to teach them numbers and letters, nutrition, and any other topic you can think of. It is loaded with great information and I think it would be beneficial for all parents. If any of you have any other parent resource websites that you would like to share, let me know and I will post them on our blog.

Brown Day!

We had a fun Brown Day today at preschool!
We all wore brown, painted brown, made our brown collage together, and got our faces painted brown. We even had chocolate milk and Teddy Grahams for a brown snack! We also had fun playing in the play room and in the backyard room.
We had a Bible lesson about being thankful. We talked about how God gave us everything that we have like food to eat, mommies and daddies to take care of us, and houses to live in. We wrote down what we are thankful to God for on turkey feathers. You can see our thankful turkey displayed in the playroom.
Reminder: Tuesday we are going to the Lincoln Public Library for a tour. Please have your child wear his or her green field trip t-shirt and dress warm for the walk over.
Here is another song to try at home:
(tune of London Bridge)
God gave us the color brown, color brown, color brown
God gave us the color brown
Leaves are brown!
(continue singing the song and filling in with different things that are brown)

Harvest of Talents

Here is a picture of our class presenting a check to the Harvest of Talents. We gave half the proceeds of our carnival to the Harvest, and we were able to donate $165.97! This is a great accomplishment and will do so much to alleviate world hunger all over the world. The aluminum cans that were brought in were also donated to the Harvest. This is a perfect example how God can use anyone, even little children, to do good work for others. I am proud of our preschoolers and families for their contribution to the Harvest of Talents for world hunger. Thank you! It wouldn't have been possible without your participation in the carnival and your volunteer work setting up and working at the carnival.
It's hard to believe that it is November already! Our class is learning and growing more and more everyday. Be looking for your November newsletter on Tuesday. We will be learning about books, turkeys, and being thankful to God! Happy November!
