Here are some pictures from Thursday. We continued talking about circles. We sang "Walk Around the Circle." We hunted for circles in our classroom. Our favorite part of the day was making circle prints with paint.

Harvest Moons

Here are some pictures of us in the listening center, playing in the sand, and playing dress up in the play room.
Today we talked about Harvest Moons. We learned that a Harvest Moon is a full moon. It is a circle shape, and it is orange and yellow. We read the book, "Kitten's First Full Moon" and we made Harvest Moons to hang up in our classrooms.
Reminder: Mark your calendars! Our Fall Carnival is coming up on October 12 from 6-8 pm. We will have family fun, games and snacks. Half the proceeds from the carnival will go to Harvest of Talents, and the other half will benefit preschool. We will need lots of help for our carnival. We are asking for volunteers to work in shifts, which are only 1/2 hour. If you are available to help, please sign-up at school, or contact me by phone or e-mail. Thank you so much for your help.

Thursday, September 20

Today at preschool, we continued talking about leaves and trees. We also learned about the letter B and what starts with B. We got to try out our watercolors for the first time and paint butterflies.

Last week, we all got our own Bibles to use for Bible time throughout the year. Today, we got out our Bibles and sang, the B-I-B-L-E. We also talked about the story of creation and how God made the world and everything in it.

Next week: If you bring in a bag of aluminum cans, you will receive 4 free tickets to our Fall Carnival which will take place on October 12th. All proceeds from the cans go to support the Harvest of Talents, which feed hungry children all over the world.

Tuesday, September 18th

Today at preschool, we began talking about leaves and trees. We discussed how Sunday is the first day of Fall, and the weather will begin getting colder. The leaves will starting turning from green to red, yellow, orange, and brown. We made leaf puppets and used the crayon melt to color some leaves. We learned some new songs, played, and read a story. We also celebrated a special birthday.

Here is a song we learned at school that you can try with your child.
(to the tune of "London Bridge")
Autumn leaves are falling down
Falling down, falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down
Red, yellow, brown

Our Week

We had another great week this week. We are settling nicely into our routine. Tuesday, we began our "All About Me" unit. We made houses and glued our family pictures inside. We also sang songs with Bumblebee puppets that we made last week, and we played together.
Thursday was a busy day for the Bumblebees. We welcomed two new friends to our class. It was also picture day. We all looked so nice and smiled big for the camera. We learned about the letter A and what starts with A.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped this week in our classroom. We had Moms help us by cutting out art projects on Tuesday, and we also had great help from Moms and Grandmas for picture day. Thank you so much. You really helped our day go smoothly!
Reminders for next week: Scholastic Book orders are due on Tuesday.
